Accident Man
Movie Review: Accident Man
A bloody good time
Taking on the mantle of The Accident Man was never going to be easy, and while there are moments where Scott Adkins shines, the plot's inability to keep pace leaves a lot to be desired
The Accident Man is a 2018 British action film based on the graphic novel series of the same name by Pat Mills and Tony Skinner. The film is directed by Jesse V. Johnson, and stars Scott Adkins as Accident Man, a professional hitman who is hired to kill people in accidents. The story follows Accident Man as he is hired to kill a wealthy businessman, but the job soon becomes more complicated when the businessman's daughter is kidnapped. Accident Man must now race against time to save the girl and bring the kidnappers to justice. The film is a stylish and violent action thriller that delivers some of the most brutal fight scenes in recent memory. Adkins is a charismatic and physical presence in the lead role, and he brings his own unique brand of martial arts action to the role. The supporting cast is also solid, with Michael Jai White and Ray Park giving memorable performances. However, the film's plot is rather thin, and it doesn't always gel with the action sequences. The kidnappers are never fully developed, and their motivations are unclear. The film also suffers from a lack of character development, and it's difficult to get invested in the story. If you're looking for a bloody good time, then Accident Man is definitely worth checking out.
