Today I will marry the love of my life.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has married his partner Stella Moris in a small ceremony at Belmarsh prison.

Assange is fighting extradition to the US over espionage charges. He has been held at Belmarsh since 2019.

Moris, a lawyer, has been a vocal supporter of Assange throughout his legal battles.

The wedding took place in a small ceremony on Wednesday, with a handful of guests in attendance.

Assange wore a kilt, while Moris wore a wedding dress designed by Dame Vivienne Westwood.

In a statement released after the wedding, Assange said: "Today I will marry the love of my life. I am the most fortunate man in the world."

Moris said: "I am so proud to be marrying Julian today. He is my soulmate and I love him more than words can say."

The wedding took place despite the ongoing legal battle over Assange's extradition to the US.

In January, a British judge ruled that Assange could be extradited to the US to face charges of espionage.

Assange is appealing the decision.
