Swede Holds Off Matthew Jordan at Close of Play
Marcus Kinhult of Sweden shot a final round 66 to win the 2019 Betfred British Masters by three shots. The victory is Kinhult's first on the European Tour and moves him into the top 100 in the world rankings.
Kinhult started the day with a one-shot lead over Matthew Jordan, but the Englishman posted a course-record 63 to apply pressure. However, Kinhult remained calm and made a number of key putts to secure the victory.
"I'm so happy," said Kinhult. "I've been working hard for this and it feels great to finally get my first win."
Kinhult finished the tournament on 16-under-par 272, with Jordan second on 13-under-par 275. Tyrrell Hatton and Paul Dunne tied for third on 12-under-par 276.
The victory is a major boost for Kinhult's career and will give him confidence heading into the remaining tournaments of the 2019 season.
