Forks can have a significant impact on the price of cryptocurrencies. For example, the Bitcoin Cash hard fork in August 2017 caused the price of Bitcoin to drop by more than 20%. The Ethereum Classic hard fork in July 2016 caused the price of Ethereum to drop by more than 30%.
